It was originally found in a junk shop by a member of the public and subsequently donated to Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums. No information is available to confirm which police force compiled it but evidence suggests it’s from the Newcastle upon Tyne area.

Amsterdam is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the world and is a centre of bicycle culture with good provision for cyclists such as bike paths and bike racks, which are pervasive throughout the city. There are an estimated one million bicycles in the city. Bike theft is common, so cyclists use large secure locks. Approximately 100 000 bicycles get stolen a year in Amsterdam. People use their bicycles for a lot of different purposes, which range from going to work to picking up the children from school and doing groceries with. A wide variety of bicycles can be found throughout the city.

Amsterdam es uno de las ciudades del mundo más amigables con la bicicleta y es un centro de cultura alrededor de este medio de transporte, con bicisendasi y estacionamientos para bicicletas, que son omnipresentes en toda la ciudad. Se calcula que hay un millón de bicicletas en la ciudad. El robo de bicicletas es común, por lo que los ciclistas utilizan grandes candados y cerraduras seguras.
